I really enjoyed reviewing the Sanyo Xacti HD2000 so of course I was excited when Matt sent me the Xacti WH1. Now’s the time for students to enter the nation’s premier science competition for grades 5 through 8. The deadline for the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge is May 20. Over the summer, judges will choose up to 51 semifinalists: one from each state and the District of Columbia. By now everyone is aware that Sanyo had unveiled a couple of waterproof dual cameras which seeks to blur the line between still and video cameras by offering simultaneous video recording and still photographs. After WiQuest folding, Staccato and Artimi merging, and Intel pulling out of UWB research, Samsung steps up its Wireless USB plan with a system-on-chip (SoC) solution that promises to 120Mbps real-world performance (even taken overhead into account). In perspective, you can transfer a 700MB file in under a minute within a 3m range.
