“Guiding Light” has gone out. I know, everyone is using that play on words. CBS announced Wednesday that the longest-running scripted show in broadcasting history will end its run. The last broadcast is scheduled for Sept. 18. The soap opera began on CBS radio and then went to television. It’s been running for 72 years.
